The Dog Rescue Foundation was first established on Wirral to improve the lives of dogs in need. Steady growth throughout Wirral, North West England and across Wales, now sees the support across the whole of the UK. Monies raised provide direct financial support to many volunteer-run dog rescue organisations across the UK.
The Dog Rescue Foundation operates in three main areas:
Paws for a Good Cause – Organisations that have benefitted from the Dog Rescue Foundation include Dog Shelters, Dog Rescue Centres and dog re-housing projects, all helping to transform the lives of vulnerable dogs across the UK.
Promoting Dog Adoption – A consistent challenge faced by rescue centres is finding responsible “Pet Parents” to adopt the rescue dogs. The Dog Rescue Foundation are working on a number of initiatives under the “Give a Dog a Home” campaign, finding suitable people to foster or permanently adopt dogs in need of a home.
Volunteering – Are you able to volunteer and help at a rescue centre. There are opportunities across the UK that need filling. The Dog Rescue Foundation is helping to fill these positions – so if you can help, get in touch and we can direct you to the nearest centre in need of your support.
HOW CAN YOU HELP – Your donations can really make a difference:
- Visit a Dog friendly pub. Treat your dog to Yummy Bones or Bark Burgers! Dog treats are in place throughout dog friendly pubs, your donations do make a difference. If your local doesn’t have the dog treats, show them this post!
- Fundraising. If you have a fund-raising idea, then give the team a ring and discuss how you can help raise awareness and money for some great causes across UK.
- Volunteer. If you can spare time to volunteer in any way, then please contact us to discuss how you can help. Have a chat with one of the team and see if you can help.
- Visit our website and spread the word across Social Media. Awareness of our campaigns WILL help more dogs across UK. You can make a difference.
