Your First Visit to a BNI Merseyside Chapter

Your First Visit to a BNI Merseyside Chapter

Have you been invited to a BNI meeting? You may have registered to attend a meeting through the website or social media but are not sure what to expect. Don’t worry, everyone in the room had to attend their first meeting and they will help welcome you into the room and make sure you feel as comfortable as possible with your first visit to a BNI Merseyside Chapter.

Your First Visit to a BNI Merseyside Chapter

Make sure you get to your first BNI meeting early, this will give you more time to settle in and meet other likeminded business people from your local area. The Visitor Host Team will meet you as you arrive and take some details from you, before taking you through to a Visitor seat in the meeting room. Now – time for introductions and valuable networking.

Your First Visit to a BNI Merseyside Chapter

This is your opportunity to introduce yourself to local businesses and for them to introduce themselves to you. One great tip at your first BNI meeting is to remember there are many people in the room and you want to meet as many as possible. Keep your introduction brief and focussed and always ask about other people’s business too. If you find there is a synergy between both businesses, then arrange to make contact outside of the meeting. All this superb networking happens before the real meeting starts.

Your First Visit to a BNI Merseyside Chapter

During a BNI meeting, every member of the group (called a Chapter) can stand up and deliver a 60-second presentation about their business. You will also get the chance to do the same, so practice before you arrive and try to deliver the following information:

  • Your name and business name
  • What your business does, perhaps giving a short explanation of a recent experience in your workplace
  • Who would you like to meet and what type of businesses you would like to work with. If you can be specific and ask for a name of a person you’d like to be introduced to, someone in the room may know them and be able to introduce you personally.

Remember to relax at your first visit to a BNI Merseyside Chapter, you are talking about your business and all the people in the room are keen to hear about what you do. You will also be allowed to pass round your business cards, so make sure you bring plenty as some Chapters can have 50 members!

At the end of the meeting, you will be asked to move away from the meeting with a Visitor Orientation Host. This your opportunity to ask any questions about BNI, being a member and how to join. No pressure or hard-sell!

Your First Visit to a BNI Merseyside Chapter

BNI provides a structured, supportive, business environment for local business people to network, learn valuable new skills and develop strong personal relationships. BNI’s philosophy is Givers Gain®, which is simply this:

“If I give you business, you’ll want to give me business”.

Why Join BNI Merseyside?

Why Join BNI Merseyside?

Are you looking to increase business? Disappointed with all the same networking events? Not getting a return on your time investment when attending networking events? Have you tried BNI? Do you know the level of business growth you could achieve by joining a group of like-minded businesses in the Merseyside region? So why join BNI Merseyside?

Why Join BNI Merseyside?

BNI is the world’s leading business networking and referral organisation and members, who are all business professionals, help each other grow their businesses by passing qualified business referrals. This is fundamental to BNI’s core value of “Givers Gain”. By meeting every week, long-lasting, trusted relationships are built, resulting in businesses passing each other referrals, a completely measurable result of being involved with BNI. So why join BNI Merseyside?

Why Join BNI Merseyside?

Last year the BNI Merseyside region generated over £25,000,000 worth of invoiced business. This was qualified, recorded invoices that were a direct result of referrals amongst the group. There are many different groups, called Chapters, across the Merseyside region, all operating a one business category per Chapter policy. This means, for example, only one accountant, heating engineer or builder in each group. A one seat per business category ensures that each Chapter has it’s own, distinctive personality, so visitors are encouraged to try a number of Chapters before applying to join their chosen one.

Why Join BNI Merseyside?

So why join BNI Merseyside? Among the benefits of being a member of BNI Merseyside are:

  • Increase Business Prospects: You’ll substantially increase your business through referrals.
  • Professional Development: You’ll have access to our exclusive training programs and opportunities to sharpen your presentation and business skills.
  • Great Networking Opportunities: Your participation in up to 50 networking meetings per year will increase your exposure to many other business professionals in your community.
  • Exclusive Member Resources: You’ll have access to a range of tools and educational materials on networking, public speaking and business best-practices.

Not sure it’s for you? Why not visit a meeting and see how being a member of BNI Merseyside can help your business.
